Dave - Cold Black Mare kicks my ass from here to breakfast! Unbe-freaking-lievable. That's the gutbucket ride of all time.

Love your music, Dave. Just saw your PBS special and my wife and I watched in awe. I love your music. This is the style I am striving for, especially the freestyle, inpromtu tunes. God Bless you and yours and keep the strings tight.

Sally Koviak - Sun, Sep 9th, 2007 1:18 AM CDT
I think you were just great. I love your style of country-blues. Love your guitar playing. Wish I could play like that! Fantastic! I wish you well.

Adie!!??!! ~ glad to have found your web-presence.

I used to work @ Roots Music, the record shop that tried distributing your music a good few years back (I left in 2000), you played a great night at The Ropery down by the river for us (well, not Bob cos he didn't come, remember?)

Hope to see you and Dave again sometime ~ good luck

David Chambers - Sat, Aug 11th, 2007 5:57 PM CDT
Dear David:
My wife and I were recently pleased to see you in a concert on our local PBS channel. We were impressed with your skill and passion, as well as your laid back style. Especially poignant was when you described how some of your most beautiful mooments just "go up into the air." I understand because I play a little, and so I must say this: Every time that happens, you are giving your beautiful message to the Universe, and it is, I assure you, grateful for your contribution.
My wife then sent me the Vanderbilt link where I learned about your struggles. We have had our own(with my health), and when you wrote of your wife's loving participation and support, I saw in that a mirror of our own love, and how it got us through our struggles. We wish you the best of health and recovery.
Love,
Stephanie and David

Kate Svitak (aka Kate Zager) - Sun, Jul 8th, 2007 2:14 PM CDT

Bo Gray - Wed, Apr 18th, 2007 11:50 PM CDT
WOW! I caught the WC Handy performance tonight on KET and I just bought the DVD as fast I could whip out my credit card. Just an amazing performance...and man, you have some cool guitars, too! All the best for your continued recovery and therapy.

Jerry Lee Davidson - Sat, Apr 14th, 2007 10:38 PM CDT
David! I don't know if you would remember me. We shared a house on Ashland in Chicago with Crick. I ran into your site in the Taylor guitar mag and wanted to write you. I read about your health issues and my heart goes out to you. I have been battling my own health action too...Anyway, I am going to buy one of your CD's and get a taste of what I've been missin! I married Virginia Klemens from Chicago and we moved out to Seattle to be with Family. I would love to hear from you sometime.

Hang in there, my old roomate and gettin in trouble buddy!

Steve in Southern California - Thu, Jan 4th, 2007 12:21 AM CST
Checking out some of my old guitar teachers to see what they are up to. I took lessons from you up until you decided to leave for Nashville. At the time you announced your departure, you were tyring to pick up square neck Dobro so that you could get some work in the country capital. Your lessons were some of the best that I have had. Good to see that your move turned out alright. For me, I had to find another acoustic blues teacher.

Kim - Tue, Dec 26th, 2006 6:11 PM CST
I enjoyed your page. Keep up the good work! Feel free to visit my page. It\'s cool too.n

Tricia - Thu, Apr 27th, 2006 1:01 PM CDT
Adie--It was great to see you but sure missed Dave. Give him a hug and tell him to come see us in Mountain View, hang out on the square, write songs and get lots better. You got some really good comments from the Dulcimer Jamboree classes so hope to see you back again & hope Dave is well enough to come along. Work on your T-shirt and let me know when you get one and I will be your walking billboard--in fact--how about you on one side and Dave on the other. Get Dave to teach you "Rats in My Bedroom" on your UKE, so you can do a RESO DUET soon.

Don O. - Wed, Apr 26th, 2006 5:17 PM CDT
Yow! Just stopped by for the first time in a long time after referring someone to the site. What a year y'all have had!! We sure hope it gets better from here on. All the best from your friends and fans in DFW.

Greetings from all of us at Amazingrace . . . one of those clubs in Chicago that Dave frequented in the 70's. He was one of our favorites. Super dry humor, awesome guitar work. And it's great to be rewarded for Googling you. Let me know when you might be back in the Windy.

Great news about recovering, bad news about not playing. Any chance of taking this time to set some of your songs down in a book (in tab) for those of us who learn best that way, and would love to try to sound like you?

For Adie Grey:

My girlfriend. Jewell Ann Lang, was in the taxi business having
driven them, dispatched them and owned two companies of
her own for 37 years until she died of cancer on
April 12th., 2003. She was the first licensed female taxi driver
in Savannah, Ga. I found your song 'Grandpa's Advice' on a
cd and played it for her about a year before she found out she
had cancer in June 2002. She immediately liked the song as
she could relate to it's lyrics after so many years in the cab
business, many of them driving a cab. She fought cancer for
10 months and the night she took ill for the last time she
sung Grandpa's Advice to her sister just before her sister
left to go home from my house where my girlfriend had been staying
the ten months she fought cancer, the last two months under
home hospice care. It would be the last song she would ever
sing as she died 5 days later. Hearing and singing along
with the song gave her a lot of pleasure the last two years of her
life and for that I thank you for it.

Jackie
